Aarni is an app by Brilliance Apps Finland. It reads your mail and calendar on your phone. It then lists the promises it finds there. This page explains what data the app uses and where that data goes.
Your data stays on your device
Aarni does all of its work on your device. It keeps your mail, calendar events, contacts and recordings there. The list it builds from them stays there too. You use Aarni with the mail and calendar accounts you already have. Only you hold this data. The app is free of analytics, advertising and tracking.
Kept from us, from advertisers and from AI training
Aarni runs without a server of its own, so Brilliance Apps Finland receives none of your data. We have no copy to sell, share or use for training AI, and your data stays out of every such use. Aarni's AI was trained before it reached your phone. When you remove an item, Aarni remembers that on your phone only.
What the app reads, and why
- Mail from the accounts you connect. These can be Gmail, Outlook or an IMAP account such as iCloud Mail. Aarni reads it to find requests, promises, deadlines and invoices. It opens your mailboxes in read-only mode. Every message stays where it is, as it is.
- Calendar events from the calendars you connect. Aarni uses them to show your day and to link meetings to open items.
- Contacts, if you allow it. Aarni uses them to match the names in a recording to email addresses.
- The microphone, only while you record a meeting or a voice memo. Aarni transcribes the recording on the device.
- Notifications, for your morning brief and urgent reminders.
Connections the app makes
The app connects to these services only:
- Google, Microsoft or your mail provider. The app signs you in there and fetches your own mail and calendar. It keeps passwords and sign-in tokens in the secure storage of your device.
- Hugging Face and GitHub. The app downloads its AI and speech models from them once. Each download contains only the request for the file.
Google user data
Aarni's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Aarni uses Gmail and Calendar data to show your list and brief on your device. It uses the data for this purpose alone. The data stays on your device, and only you see it.
Deleting your data
You can disconnect any account in Settings, Integrations. Uninstalling the app deletes everything it stored. You can also revoke Aarni's access in your Google or Microsoft account.
Age
Aarni is meant for adults aged 18 and over.
